As I've created a personal appreciation of biology and science in general, I've learned to illustrate the things that I find beautiful. I originally began illustrating strictly insects but have branched out into equine anatomy recently and would love to explore this new pathway as I continue educating myself in equine science. I plan to share my art with others interested in the sciences and hope to inspire others to appreciate the beauty of both insects and equine anatomy. This page will serve as a building portfolio of my art.
"Equine Distal Limb" by Lauren Gingery
I was inspired by a radiograph of my mare Nala taken after abscessing to solidify my knowledge of the equine distal limb.
The skeletal anatomy reference was pieced together by multiple images.
The reference for the solar view of the hoof was found on David Landreville's website.
The navicular and coffin bone reference images were found on The Study of the Equine Hoof Facebook page.
